| Internal Medicine |
 |
ECIM Internists provide long term comprehensive care in the office and at CarolinaEast Medical Center, managing both common and complex illnesses of adults and the elderly. Our internists are trained in the diagnosis, treatment and management of allergies, arthritis, diabetes, digestive diseases, infections, blood diseases, hormonal disorders, intensive care, kidney disorders and respiratory problems. Another aspect of internal medicine includes disease prevention through wellness visits, diagnostic procedures, routine lab tests, and complete physical exams. Due to the countless changes in today’s medical world, our internists must continually update their knowledge in all of these areas. The scope of services and level of expertise may remind you of major metropolitan practices, but the way you are treated makes you feel like family.
The Complete Physical Examination
A basic medical necessity for each new patient, this in-depth exam provides you and your doctor with a thorough understanding of your body, its symptoms and unique characteristics. The exam may include a detailed medical history, physical examination, chest x-ray, an electrocardiogram (EKG), urinalysis and a variety of blood tests. Additional tests and diagnostic assessments may be requested by your doctor when appropriate. All of this is done right in our offices, usually in one visit and with attention to privacy and convenience.
