Our Gastroenterologists manage and treat patients with disorders of the digestive system. These disorders can affect the stomach, the intestines, pancreas, liver and other related organs. Evaluation and treatment may include a number of diagnostic assessments including endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures and lab tests. Diagnostic testing procedures such as endoscopy can identify digestive and other internal disorders allowing your physician to prescribe the appropriate course of treatment.
Digestive diseases can be treated in a number of ways including proper diet, exercise, education as well as medication and in some cases more extensive treatment. Once a diagnosis is made, physicians work with the patient to determine the best course of treatment and make recommendations for a healthy lifestyle. If more intensive treatments are required, our staff will help coordinate the necessary steps for the patient's continuity of care.
The ECIM New Bern office at Berne Square houses a state of the art Endoscopy Center in an out patient facility. Our doctors and trained staff provide endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy in a comfortable and relaxed setting. These diagnostic tests enable our gastroenterologists to more accurately evaluate digestive disorders.
